Marketplace role
We provide listings, community posts, messaging, requests, reviews, notifications, and moderation tools. Backyard Harvest AZ LLC is not the seller, buyer, producer, delivery service, food inspector, payment processor, employer, agent, partner, or party to any member exchange. Members communicate and arrange transactions directly.
Member responsibilities
Members must provide accurate information, follow applicable laws and platform policies, protect private pickup details, and use the platform only for legitimate local food exchanges. Each member is independently responsible for an item’s legality, description, condition, quality, safety, labeling, price, payment, pickup, handling, and use.
Information collected
- Verified account email, display name, and account identifiers
- U.S. ZIP code and city or neighborhood—not a publicly displayed street address
- Listings, photos, community posts, requests, private messages, reviews, reports, and feedback
- Safety acknowledgments, policy acceptance, and moderation records
- Optional phone verification, notification preferences, consent, and delivery records
- Basic technical information needed to operate, secure, and troubleshoot the service
How information is used
We use information to verify accounts, operate marketplace and community features, deliver requested alerts, prevent abuse, support safety and moderation, respond to feedback, troubleshoot problems, and calculate aggregate community statistics. Email addresses, phone numbers, private messages, and exact pickup details are not intentionally displayed publicly.
Information sharing and retention
Information may be processed by service providers that support hosting, authentication, storage, email, text messaging, and security. We may also preserve or disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect users, investigate misuse, or enforce these terms. Records are retained only as reasonably needed for platform operation, safety, legal compliance, dispute handling, and legitimate business purposes.
Safety, moderation, and liability
Members must inspect food, verify claims, and make their own exchange decisions. We may remove content, restrict features, or suspend accounts to protect the community or enforce platform rules. To the extent permitted by law, the platform is provided without guarantees regarding members, listings, food, transactions, continuous availability, or particular outcomes.
Changes, questions, and account requests
We may update these policies as the platform, company, or applicable requirements change. Material changes should be communicated through the service. Members may use the feedback tool to ask privacy questions, request account assistance, or seek review of a moderation decision.
