Marketplace role
Backyard Harvest provides listings, messaging, requests, reviews, and moderation tools. It is not the seller, buyer, delivery service, food inspector, payment processor, or party to an exchange. Members arrange transactions directly and accept responsibility for legality, quality, safety, payment, pickup, and use.
Member responsibilities
Members must provide accurate information, follow applicable laws, protect private pickup details, and use the platform only for legitimate local food exchanges.
Information collected
- Verified account email and display name
- Maricopa County ZIP code and city or neighborhood—not a public street address
- Listings, photos, requests, private messages, reviews, and reports
- Safety acknowledgments and moderation records
- Optional notification preferences, mobile verification, consent, and delivery records
How information is used
Information supports account verification, marketplace features, requested alerts, safety, moderation, troubleshooting, and aggregate community statistics. Email addresses and private messages are not shown publicly.
Safety and liability
Members must inspect food and make their own decisions. To the extent permitted by law, the service is provided without guarantees regarding listings, members, food, transactions, uninterrupted availability, or outcomes.
Changes and contact
Policies may be updated as the marketplace grows or laws change. Material changes should be communicated inside the app.
